ABOUT
"manifesting the rock n' roll spirit and fierceness of 1970's female greats like Ann Wilson of Heart, Christina Bailey brings an edgy blend of classic rock mixed with 90's alt-grunge childhood inspirations. A powerhouse voice and spirit on stage and in headphones.."
Since
2010 Christina Bailey has been touring the live music scene of the
American Pacific Northwest. First, in the “Blondie/Talking Heads
sandwich” indie rock band Big American Family, and then from 2010 on
with honeymoon, an
all female fronted collaborative of genre bending Folk-Americana
singer-songwriters.
With a powerhouse voice and dynamic stage presence, Christina has infused her musical inspirations into bands and supported and shared stages with up and coming to classic music royalty. Including shows with Punch Brothers, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers, Jackie Greene, Akron Family, Ray LaMontagne, David Gray, Carney, Truth & Salvage Co., Joan Osborne and others.
Dubbed a “siren and goddess” by Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, Christina took downtime with honeymoon to create her own siren story. A story that emerged into a concept EP, Christina’s debut solo effort : Christina Bailey & The Civil Men LOVE AND WAR. Created with family and close friends, Love and War was recorded in a house near the Pacific ocean and is a passion project grown from the vision to create a vinyl focused record with two very different sides.
The War side opens the double EP and shows the edgy rock and roll side of Christina’s vision, with the siren songs about seduction, anxiety and the losses of war. The B side of the record, The Love side, intro’s with a vocal collaboration of Christina’s fans and supporters (who financially supported the independent release of the record), and introduces a fun, upbeat southern inspired set of songs about taking chances, asking for love, and the journeys we take leaving friends.
